DART is looking for safety-minded and customer-focused individuals to join the DART team as professional bus operators.
Available positions include Fixed-Route Bus Operator and Paratransit Bus Operator. All new hires will begin as part-time (20-35+ hours, depending on position) and have the opportunity to move to full-time as positions become available.
Individuals must meet the following criteria:
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid Iowa Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
- Excellent driving record for past five years
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven customer service skills
- Pass a pre-employment, DOT physical, criminal background check and drug screen
- Flexible availability
- Ability to understand fare structure, schedules and maps
DART offers a competitive salary and benefits program, including:

- $14.99 - $16.73 per hour after completion of training
- $11.13 per hour student pay for four to six weeks of training

- $13 - $16.59 per hour after completion of training
- $11 per hour student pay for four to six weeks of training
