DART extends D-Line hours for Yankee Doodle Pops

Posted on June, 19 2013

The hours of the free-to-ride D-Line Downtown Shuttle will be extended to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, to take people to the Des Moines Symphony’s Yankee Doodle Pops concert.

Concert goers can more easily find parking in the downtown area west of the Des Moines River, then ride the D-Line to the concert. The D-Line loops through downtown on Grand Avenue and Locust Street and picks up passengers at any of the designated stops along the route. The shuttle will take them back to their stops afterward.

The D-Line’s route will be detoured all day due to bridge closures that day:

  • 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. – The D-Line will operate on Grand and Locust west of the river, and on Walnut Street over the river, through the East Village and to the Capitol.

  • 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. -- The D-Line will operate on Grand and Locust west of the river, and on Walnut Street over the river to East 6th Street in the East Village. The shuttle will not travel around the Capitol during these hours.
