Give Feedback on Concepts for a New DART Bus Network

Posted on April, 1 2025

DART is redesigning its transit network as part of Reimagine DART and plans to change its bus routes and services beginning in summer 2026 to meet Central Iowa's evolving travel needs. This spring, we want feedback on two conceptual maps that show different options for designing a new transit network within our current budget.

Throughout April, riders and community members can look at the two maps and take a short survey. DART will also host several in-person and virtual public meetings throughout Polk County.

We will present a summary of the feedback we collect to DART’s governing body, the DART Commission, in May before elected leaders decide our priorities and budget for designing a new transit network. The new draft network will be shared for public input in August 2025.

How to Give Input

  • Print a paper survey and return it to DART Customer Service, in-person at DART Central Station or by mail:

          Attn: DART Customer Service

          DART

          620 Cherry St.

          Des Moines, IA 50309

  • Attend a public meeting. At each meeting, DART staff will give a brief presentation and answer questions during the first half hour. Attendees will then be able to look at the maps and take a survey. Each person who attends a meeting and completes a survey will receive a promo code for one free weekly bus pass in the MyDART app.

This phase of Reimagine DART is focused on goals for our fixed route network, but we still encourage DART Paratransit customers to give feedback because the way we design our transit network could affect where we provide Paratransit service in the future.
