Record number of Fair goers used DART Park & Rides

DART provided 253,217 rides during the 11 days of the 2019 Iowa State Fair—the highest number of rides provided since DART began offering the Park & Ride service in 2006. DART’s 2019 Fair ridership is nearly a 5% increase over the ridership record set in 2015 when DART provided 242,081 rides, and is a 9.5% increase over 2018 ridership.

DART takes Fair goers to the Fair from three Park & Ride locations:

1. Iowa State Capitol – 112,403 rides provided to/from this location
2. Southeast Polk High School – 84,862 rides provided to/from this location
3. Center Street Park & Ride – 55,952  rides provided to/from this location
    

The busiest day for the Fair, Saturday, Aug. 10, was also the busiest day for DART Park & Rides with a total of 36,629 rides provided.
