Posted on July, 16 2013

RAGBRAI cyclists and event goers will have an easy ride between their camp site to festivities in downtown Des Moines until midnight Tuesday, July 23, via the free-to-ride D-Line Downtown Shuttle.

The extended D-Line service will operate every five to seven minutes and connect four miles between the Water Works camp site on George Flagg Parkway to the RAGBRAI Event Village in the Court Avenue Business District and along the Principal River Walk. Buses are equipped with bicycle racks that hold two bikes. Bikes are not allowed inside buses.

  • 10:30 a.m. to midnight Tuesday – The route will be shortened on the east end, to turn around at East 6th Street, as well as extended on the west end to the Water Works camp site on George Flagg Parkway.

RAGBRAI, Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, begins June 21 in Council Bluffs and ends 406.6 miles later on June 27 in Fort Madison. This is the first time RAGBRAI is coming through Des Moines in 16 years.
