DART made minor time changes on Routes 52 and 72

DART made small changes to stop times on Local Route 52 - Jordan Creek and Local Route 72 - West Des Moines Valley. These changes will help riders transfer to connecting routes and improve buses running on time. 

Minor schedule changes will began on November 26, 2023.

Minor changes were made to Local Route 52 weekday and weekend schedules, going in both directions.

DART On Demand

DART On Demand service is provided in Ankeny, Des Moines and West Des Moines. DART On Demand is a Microtransit service that allows riders to reserve real-time (on demand) trips that must take place within a designated travel zone. This service costs $1.75 per ride for full fare trips, and $0.75 per ride for those who qualify for Half Fare or Ride to Thrive. 

DART On Demand Ankeny fares increasing Oct. 3

Beginning Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, the cost to ride DART On Demand is changing, and riders will have more options for how they pay their fare. When DART started service on DART On Demand in Ankeny, replacing the former On Call service for the community, a promotional price of $1 per ride was set. Now, nearly one year after beginning service, the promotional fare price is ending, and single trips on the service for full-fare riders will increase to $1.75 per ride, the same price as DART’s other Fixed Route services.

Short outage planned for ridedart.com on Aug. 29

The DART website could be inaccessible for a few minutes after 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29 because of needed maintenance to the site.

This outage will not impact real-time schedule data through the MyDART app or MyDART text or any of DART's phone lines.

Any changes to this planned outage will be shared through this webpage.

Principal Foundation Grant provides free DART rides to and from school for most North and Harding students

Just in time for the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, funding from a Principal Foundation grant will provide free rides to and from school for most students at North High School and Harding Middle School in the Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) District. As of Aug. 24, students at North and Harding who previously did not qualify for free DART transit to and from school will be able to use their student ID to ride DART any time of day.
