DART increases cleaning schedule and procedures for safety of employees and riders

As community spread cases of COVID-19 increase in Iowa, DART is taking further steps to maintain the health of our employees and passengers.

Today, DART celebrates Transit Employee Appreciation Day! This holiday honors transit employees, ranging from bus operators to maintenance staff. At DART, we are recognizing nearly 200 employees serving in many different critical roles. If you ride DART today, be sure to thank your operator for their committment to safety and service. Here are a few employees we chose to spotlight this year:

Artist Sheena Rose announced for 6th Avenue Corridor bus shelter art project

The 6th Avenue Corridor Urban Neighborhood Main Street Program and the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation have selected contemporary artist Sheena Rose for the 6th Avenue Corridor Bus Shelter public art project.

DART to the Iowa Caucuses

The Iowa Democratic Party and Iowa GOP partnered with DART to offer free rides after 4 p.m. on Caucus night. This includes rides on DART Fixed Routes and free rides to and from Caucus sites on Paratransit.
