1100 DART WAY ELECTRICAL IMPROVEMENTS

The project consists of making necessary improvements to the Paratransit building to allow for charging of Battery Electric Buses. Improvements include: coordination for new service entrance with MidAmerican Energy; installation of new distribution panels and pathways to locations where chargers will be installed; replacing existing 208/120v 200 amp service with 408/277v 2000 amp service; installing pathways to and installation of seven charging stations provided by others.
This project will be split into two phases. Phase I will consist of all work except the installation of two 125kW power control systems and associated remote chargers/cords (charging stations) which will not be available on site for installation until after main project completion. Phase II will consist of remobilizing to perform final install of the remaining two 125kW charger systems. Phase II will not immediately follow Phase I.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 8, 2019 in the Hub Room at 1100 DART Way, Des Moines, Iowa 50309. Attendance is not required to submit a bid, but is highly encouraged. Sealed bids are due by 2:00 p.m. Central Time on July 19, 2019. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. in the Hub Room at 1100 DART Way, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
