August Service Change Scheduled for August 21

Effective Sunday, August 21, 2016, DART is making the following changes:

  • Local Routes 1 and 4 and the D-Line Downtown Shuttle will be redirected due to the pending E Grand Avenue Bridge Closure. These changes will remain in effect until the bridge reopens sometime in 2018.

o   The inbound/westbound trips on Local Routes 1 and 4 will travel via E Grand Ave (westbound), E 6th (left, southbound), E Walnut (right, westbound), 2nd Ave (right, northbound), Grand Ave (left, westbound) and 7th St. (left, southbound) to DART Central Station.

o   The eastbound D-Line Downtown Shuttle will travel via Locust (eastbound), 3rd St. (right, southbound), Walnut St. (left, eastbound), E. 5th St. (left, northbound), E. Grand Ave. (right, eastbound), E. 13th St. (right, southbound), E. Walnut St. (right, westbound) and E. 12th St. (right, northbound).

o   The westbound D-Line Downtown Shuttle will travel via via E. 12th St. (northbound), E. Grand Ave. (left, westbound), E. 5th St. (left, southbound), E. Walnut St. (right, westbound), 2nd Ave. (right, northbound) and Grand Ave. (left, westbound) to the Western Gateway.

  • An additional day of service has been added to the D-Line Downtown Shuttle to help visitors, employers and residents easily travel downtown and in the East Village. Beginning August 27, the D-Line will operate on Saturdays between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Shuttle runs in a loop between downtown and the East Village transporting people between the Iowa State Capitol Complex and the Western Gateway Park including the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.

 

  • Minor time adjustments on:

o   Local Routes 13414 and 52

o   Flex Routes 72 and 74

New schedules will be available on ridedart.com beginning on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. They are also available through the links above. Printed schedules will be available at DART Central Station and on DART buses beginning Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

Note: Time changes will affect bus transfers. Please plan your trip well in advance to get to your transfer location on time.
