A large class of new bus operators is being recruited by DART as we prepare to expand service in August.
DART will be hiring new operators immediately to enter training this summer. The additional operators are needed for DART to expand service Aug. 18, including later hours, more weekend hours and additional frequencies.
Positions include Fixed-Route Bus Operator and Paratransit Bus Operator. All new hires will begin as part-time (20-35+ hours, depending on position) and have the opportunity to move to full-time as positions become available.
DART is an equal opportunity employer and offers an IPERS retirement plan. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, have a clean, valid Iowa driver’s license, currently hold or able to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements and a flexible schedule. Paid operator training is available.
Candidates may also apply in person at DART Central Station from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
