DART is making some adjustments to several of its Local and Express Routes on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020. Changes include:
- Map changes for Local Routes 10 and 15 and Express Routes 93, 94 and 99
- Schedule changes for the following Local Routes: 6, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16, 72 and 74
- Schedule changes for the following Express Routes: 92, 93, 94, 95 and 99.

Local Routes
Local Route 6 – Indianola Avenue
Schedule times for Local Route 6 will be adjusted to improve the route’s ability to run on time. Weekend schedule times will also be changed to help ensure riders who want to transfer from Route 16 at DART Central Station have enough time. While scheduled times for this route will shift, there will be no change to how often buses on this route will run.
Local Route 10 – East University
Morning trips beginning in Pleasant Hill traveling to DART Central Station will begin at Hy-Vee instead of Sherrylynn Blvd. Schedules for this route will also update to help the route run on time. There will not be a change to how many trips are offered on this route.
Local Route 11 – Ingersoll/Valley Junction
DART made changes to this route in October 2019, extending service to the area near the Deer Ridge Apartment Complex in SW Des Moines. Since making the change, DART is finding it hard to keep buses on this route running on time. So, schedules for the route will be adjusted to better reflect what times the bus is arriving at stops. This change will impact every schedule time for this route.
Local Route 15 – 6th Avenue
This route will be extended to loop around Park Fair Mall in north Des Moines. The new routing will give riders better access at Park Fair Mall with stops on the same side of the street. This means riders will not need to cross Euclid Avenue or 2nd Avenue to access the bus or Park Fair Mall depending what direction they are traveling. This route change will cause minor adjustments to schedule times for this route.
Local Route 16 – Douglas Avenue
DART will update schedules for Local Route 16 to ensure the second bus on weekdays arrives to DART Central Station in time for riders to make their transfers to other routes.
Other schedule adjustments
The schedules for Local Route 8 - Fleur Drive, Local Route 72 - West Des Moines Loop and Local Route 74 - NW Urbandale will change to improve the ability of these routes to run at their scheduled times. While schedule times will shift, there will be no change to how often buses on these routes run.
Express Routes
Express Route 93 – NW 86th
Schedule times for Express Route 93 will change to help the route run on time. To improve safety, DART is removing Outbound service from Crescent Chase and instead having the route turn at NW 62nd Ave from NW 86th St. No route changes are being made for Inbound trips and will continue to serve all existing bus stops along Crescent Chase in the Inbound direction only. There will be no change to the number of trips offered on this route.
Express Route 94 – Westown
This route will no longer pull through the parking lot of Wells Fargo on Vista Drive. Instead, it will serve this building with a new bus stop on Office Park Drive. Due to this change, bus stop #2744 on the north side of Vista Drive will no longer be served by Route 94. This change will improve the safety of this route and will help the route run on time. There will be no change to how often buses on this route run.
Express Route 99 – Altoona
Schedule times for Express Route 99 will change to help the route run on time more frequently. To improve safety, routing to the Altoona Walmart will begin using 36th Ave SW. There will be no change to how often buses on this route run, and the route will still stop at all the previous bus stops.
Other schedule adjustments
DART is changing the schedule for Express Route 92 - Hickman and Express Route 95 - Vista to improve the ability of these routes to run at their scheduled times. While schedule times will shift, there will be no change to the number of trips offered on these routes.
