Thank you for helping us to ensure the health and safety of those who ride, and work for, DART. With the extra precautions we’ve taken to ensure your safety, (such as increased cleaning and sanitization) we’ve relied on your help by limiting your travel to essential trips, practicing social distancing at stops and on DART, and wearing masks. As more businesses and organizations in central Iowa re-open, DART wants to make sure we are safely able to provide transportation to those who want to ride and those who rely on DART.

Record number of Fair goers used DART Park & Rides

DART provided 253,217 rides during the 11 days of the 2019 Iowa State Fair—the highest number of rides provided since DART began offering the Park & Ride service in 2006.

Pilot program aims to make it easier for new Iowans to learn to ride DART

A new pilot project aims to make it easier for refugees and immigrants to learn to ride DART. The project, which includes new signage and how-to-ride guides in multiple languages, is the result of nine months of work by participants in the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute’s Community Leadership Program.

Now Available: NEW MyDART Trip Planner and Next DART Bus Tools

A new MyDART Trip Planner and Next DART Bus feature is now live on ridedart.com and in the MyDART app. The new tools have improved search functionality and more options for getting real-time arrival of buses.

Three area organizations receive retired DART RideShare vans

Three area non-profit organizations received retired RideShare vans through DART’s van donation program. The recipients are Latinas/Latinos Al Éxito, Eyerly Ball Community Mental Health Services and Helping Our Veterans with Everyday Living (HOVEL).

Public Art Foundation Commissions Sixth Public Art Bus

The Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation is proud to partner with the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority to unveil the sixth art bus in conjunction with the opening of the 2017 Des Moines Arts Festival. The Public Art Foundation commissioned Des Moines artist Jordan Weber to create a design to wrap the sixth art bus. The project is part of the Public Art Foundation’s Project Spaces initiative, which places compelling, temporary works of art in highly accessible and visible public spaces.
